Enjoy the sheer sensation of being alive while surrounded by that indescribable “clean-smelling” atmosphere that can only be found in nature.
This purifier is a bit different than others as it releases powerful negative Ions to purify and freshen up the area controlling maximum dust particles, allergens, and cleaning the air to help breathe you better.

Things Considers When Buying a Kitchen Air Purifier
Although air purifiers are relatively simple machines, there might be some key parameters and functionalities left out if you don’t do your homework properly.
In the following section, we give you a walk-through guide to some key features which will enable you to make an informed choice when purchasing an air purifier.
Machine Capacity
The first & foremost thing is the capacity to clean air in specified room size. This factor is directly related to the size of your room.
You have to choose the capacity of the air purifier depending on the room size in which it would be used & it is always better to be on the larger side just to cover for the non-ideal environment like damped walls etc.
CADR rating
CADR is short for Clean Air Delivery Rates which is a measure developed by the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) to help standardize the filtration of a specific type of pollutant particles in set room size.
As a rule of thumb, a higher CADR number means that the air purifier can remove more particles and vice versa. Some air purifiers have a single CADR number showing they are designed for only a specific type of pollutant; while other models may have filters for many different pollutants.
It is worth mentioning that some manufacturers follow the IQAirHealthPro standards instead of CADR rating; however such models remain lower in numbers.
Room Size
CADR rating associated with recommended area/room size is also an important feature that directly relates to your requirements.
For an average room size of 300 square feet, the minimum CADR number should be around 200 (cubic feet per minute), and similarly, for a larger 500 square feet room, you should get an air purifier with at least 350 cubic feet per minutes.
Types of Pollutants
Although there are all-in-one type air purifiers available in the market for your general air quality improvement; most machines are designed for anyone or two specific types of pollutants. Therefore depending on the environment, you can choose either for smokes or pets or kitchen smells.
Filter System & Types
Most air purifiers use two-layered mechanical filtration systems to physically trap the particles within them. The first layer is called pre-filter which stops the larger particles & pet hair etc. while the second layer is the main working horse which removes the different types of smells and odor from the air.
Pre-filters are just like those filters inside vacuum cleaners which may either be washable or disposable. The main filters are usually high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters which can trap particles up to 0.3 microns small.
It is advisable to beware of the so-called “HEPA-type” filters which are claimed to be as efficient as HEPA filters but their working cannot be confirmed on the individual level.
These HEPA filters are often complimented with additional (activated) charcoal filters which specialize in removing Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s) often generated from cooking in the kitchen. Some air purifiers even have an extra layer of UV light to effectively disinfect the air from germs.
Filtration Maintenance Cost
In addition to the up-front capital required for air purifiers, you also need to periodically invest in the replacement of your exhausted filters for which some models have an indicator light.
You need to replace both layers (pre-filters as well as HEPA filters) once they have been used to their life which varies from filter to filter. Generally, expensive filters have longer operation life than the cheaper ones. Similarly, activated charcoal is also needed to be re-generated after certain usage cycles.
Noise Level
Generally, air purifiers are low-noise appliances with only a fan making a slight humming sound. Therefore these are very suited to be used in bedrooms especially for kids. Larger air purifiers however have somewhat higher noise levels sometimes going as high as 60 dBA.
Portability
Portability is another desirable feature that adds the icing to the cake. Most of the common sized air purifiers are equipped with a wheeled base with the exception of very large ones & depending on your use; you can opt for this feature without compromising the main things described above.
Energy Consumption
Typically, air purifiers consume very little electrical power depending on their fan size. On average, you can find an air purifier with a 50-watt power rating & it can go as high as 200 watts.
Some manufacturers have added an “eco” mode wherein they have particle sensors inside the air purifiers which put it on standby after reaching a certain purity level. Such models generally also have their Energy Star rating on them.
Additional features
There are also some additional features available on different models. Although these are not a deal-breaker, their presence on your appliance makes your life a lot easier. These include remote controller, Microprocessor-based control, integrated with smartphone apps, etc.
